LaToshia Rouse, CD/PCD(DONA), SpBCPE

LaToshia Rouse is a nationally recognized birth and postpartum doula, patient engagement consultant, and maternal health partner with over a decade of experience empowering families and collaborating with organizations to improve healthcare outcomes. As the founder of Birth Sisters Doula Services, LaToshia provides compassionate, evidence-based support to birthing families, specializing in breastfeeding, maternal mental health, and the unique needs of NICU parents.

With a partner journey that began with her premature triplets, LaToshia understands the complexities of navigating healthcare systems as a parent and brings a unique perspective to her work. Her lived experience, combined with her expertise, positions her as a trusted voice in advancing patient-centered care and addressing health equity in maternal and child health.

LaToshia partners with hospitals, healthcare organizations, and public health collaboratives to develop innovative strategies for improving care delivery. Her expertise includes:

LaToshia serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ), co-chairs the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (NNPQC) Executive Committee, and is a member of the HEDIS Health Equity Expert Work Group for National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). She is also a subject matter expert for a PCORI-funded systematic review on the Impact of Doula Care.

A sought-after speaker and trainer, LaToshia has presented at national conferences, including the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives, Leapfrog's Annual Meeting, NCQA's Annual Conference, and various webinars on patient/ community engagement, health equity and doulas.
